Ginger (生薑)
Uses: Warming, improves digestion, relieves nausea, warms meridians
Preparation (learning): Fresh ginger tea: slice 3-5 pieces, steep in hot water 5-10 minutes
Caution: Avoid in high fever or Yin deficiency

Goji Berry (枸杞)
Uses: Tonifies Kidney and Liver, nourishes Blood, improves vision

Caution: Avoid in pregnancy or with blood-thinning medications

Chrysanthemum (菊花)
Uses: Cools Liver Heat, clears eyes, reduces inflammation
Preparation (learning): Steep 5-7 flowers in hot water 5-10 minutes
Caution: Avoid in Spleen Yang deficiency

Licorice Root (甘草)
Uses: Tonifies Qi, harmonizes other herbs, soothes digestion
Preparation (learning): Add small piece to herbal tea or soup
Caution: Avoid in high blood pressure or excess sodium intake

Astragalus (黃耆)
Uses: Tonifies Qi, strengthens immunity, supports Spleen
Preparation (learning): Add 3-5 slices to soups or broths during cooking
Caution: Avoid in acute infections or exterior conditions

Reishi Mushroom (靈芝)
Uses: Calms Shen, improves sleep, supports immunity
Preparation (learning): Simmer 1-2 pieces in water 20-30 minutes
Caution: Avoid in early pregnancy
